Public Service Awards – Oct. 15, 2025

The Clearwater Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recently recognized Sergeant David Nugent with the Clearwater Police Department and Lt. Robert Palisi with the Clearwater Fire Department. Both were presented with the annual SAR Public Service Award for their outstanding commitment to their jobs and serving the citizens of Clearwater. Supervisor Lt. Chris Ziermann of the Clearwater Police Department and Supervisor Steve Salaguras of the Clearwater Fire Department both spoke very highly of the individuals selected to receive the SAR Public Service Awards from their departments.

Certificate of Appreciation – September 17, 2025

On September 17, 2025, the Clearwater Chapter was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the DeSoto Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for our financial contribution to the historical preservation of the Old Schoolhouse at the University of Tampa, which is owned by the DAR. ‘Welcome Home’ – Honor Flight of West Florida – Sept 16, 2025

On September 16, 2025, several members of the Color Guard from the Clearwater and Tampa SAR Chapters participated in the Welcome Home Celebration for Honor Flight of West Central Florida – Mission 54. When the aircraft of 75 military veterans and the Ambassadors who accompanied them arrived at the Clearwater – St. Petersburg I nternational Airport, the SAR Color Guard led them through a long passageway lined with well-wishers to the baggage claim area. The patriotic crowd gathered to celebrate and honor these true American heroes and wish them an enthusiastic “Welcome Home” for their unwavering service and sacrifice.
